The Greenwich Festivals
Greenwich Summer Sessions is part of The Greenwich Festivals: Music, supported by Greenwich Council.
The Greenwich Festivals was launched in 2010 and are a series of high quality events to celebrate the cultural vibrancy of Greenwich.
The Greenwich Festivals 2011 programme runs from April to November and is set to be even more exciting than 2010’s, encompassing something for everyone. From lively children’s theatre to invigorating dance performances, spectacular outdoor shows that will transform the streets to music, comedy and film. The Greenwich Festivals will firmly establish Greenwich as the place to enjoy culture in the capital.

The Old Royal Naval College
Greenwich Summer Sessions returns for a second year to the stunning grounds of the Old Royal Naval College, home to Wren’s twin domed riverside masterpiece.
The Old Royal Naval College is one of London’s most iconic buildings, and was the 15th most popular visitor attraction in the UK in 2010. Among the celebrated 18th century buildings on the site are the Chapel of St Peter and St Paul and the stunning Painted Hall. The striking architecture has recently been used as a location for the films The Duchess, Sherlock Holmes and the soon to be released Pirates of the Caribbean 4.
The Old Royal Naval College has a wide range of facilities including the popular Discover Greenwich interpretation centre; an award-winning microbrewery and restaurant and Greenwich’s Tourist Information Centre; and offers a year round programme of public events and activities.

British Music Experience
The British Music Experience, presented by The Co-operative is the new national museum of Popular music. It opened at The O2 on the Greenwich Peninsula in March 2009 and fills a void by acting as a cultural provider and giving people the opportunity to both learn and celebrate the history of British Popular music. The museum includes exhibition galleries, learning zones, a music studio, dance area, a live music venue, and immersive audiovisual spaces. A full Education and Public Programme, ranging from workshops and trails to full scale concerts and Master Classes, enhances and compliments the experience. It was privately funded and runs as an independent charity to advance the education and appreciation of the art, history and science of music in Britain.
